LeBron James hinted at the possibility of reuniting with Kyrie Irving at the Los Angeles Lakers

The news that Kyrie Irving asked to leave the Brooklyn Nets made the NBA transfer market as well as the basketball world stir.

Many fans immediately thought of the reunion between Kyrie and LeBron James, the superstar duo who brought home the 2016 championship trophy for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Immediately after the news that Irving wanted to leave appeared, LeBron had a meaningful tweet.

The Los Angeles Lakers played today and LeBron James had to fulfill his post-match press conference obligations. The question posed by The Athletic's Jovan Buha is whether Kyrie is the type of player that can help the Lakers reach the championship trophy this season?

Initially, LeBron thought that reporters should ask the director of professional affairs: "I cannot speak for the board of directors (on this matter). My mindset hasn't changed. No matter what the lineup is or who the teammates around me are, I still give my best to win."

“At any given moment, the only thing the team is focused on is preparing for the next game, putting ourselves in the best position to win each game. The exchange of players and building the squad is the job of the team leadership."

But then, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar replied that "this is a rather redundant question when talking about such a classy player." His implication is that of course Kyrie will be able to help a lot. the LA football team and that's what he's interested in.

However, this is not easy to happen because the Lakers no longer have enough pieces of the puzzle that the Brooklyn Nets want to put on the negotiating table. Like LeBron James said above, this is the job of the team leadership and everything will depend on them.

Back to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, the purple-yellow jersey team just had a bitter defeat at the New Orleans Pelicans this morning (February 5).

Despite taking the lead in the 2nd and 3rd half with a difference of over 10 points, the Lakers still fell when the opponent sublimated in the final round, ending the long trip with a loss.

LeBron and his teammates' next appearance will take place at Crypto.com Arena, hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder. This could very well be the match where James will overtake Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the all-time top scorer.
