Latest Women's Volleyball World Ranking: Vietnam women's team holds position despite deduction of points
The 2023 AVC Challenge Cup championship on Indonesian soil after 6 wins, helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team get 12.28 points on the world women's volleyball rankings in June. Before that, each team participating in the AVC Challenge Cup had won 12.28 points. added 50 points and 12 more points before being kicked out of the rankings in September 2022 for not participating in continental tournaments, Vietnam Tel had 74.28 points and climbed to 47th place. In Asia, Vietnam is also in 6th place after China (5th in the world), Japan (7th), Thailand (15th), South Korea (33) and Kazakhstan (46th).
In July, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students only had one match against France in the quarter-finals of the FIVB Challenger Cup 2023. We lost 0-3 and had to stop soon. That single defeat caused Vietnam to lose 2.76 points on the world rankings in July. However, we are still ranked 47th with 71.52 points. Less than the team ranked right above is Costa Rica (79.09 points) 7.57 points. In the Asian region, Vietnam Tel is still ranked 6th, after China (falling one place to 6th in the world: 345.20 points), Japan (down one place to 8th: 304.27 points), Thailand (15: 176.97 points), South Korea (down 2 places, down to 35: 108.46 points) and Kazakhstan (up 2 places, ranked 44: 86.03 points).
France is the team with the strongest promotion on the July rankings. Defeating Vietnam in the quarterfinals, then defeating Ukraine in the semi-finals and surpassing Sweden in the final to win tickets to the VNL, France has climbed from the top position. 21 to 17 on the world rankings with 168 points.
Türkiye is still number 1 in the world with 365.64 points. Behind are the US (358.45), Italy (354.41), Brazil (346.21) and Serbia (345.74).
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team, after losing to France, had a friendly match with Kenya and drew 2-2. The team returned home on August 1 and will continue to gather in Vinh Phuc to prepare for SEA V.League 2023 stage 1 at the Vinh Phuc Provincial Gymnasium from August 4 to August 6.
