Lakers owner calls D'Angelo Russell a "dream" trade
For many LA Lakers fans, bringing D'Angelo Russell back mid-season feels like a pipe dream. The Baby Lakers players are still very interested by the fans of the Yellow-Purple football team, even though they have been dispersed to many other teams.
However, no one thinks that one of them will return to Los Angeles and compete with the current squad for the title. It was like a dream come true, not only for the fans, but also for the owner of the club.

Appearing on a recent radio show, Jeanie Buss talked about her reaction when Russell returned to her old home.
"I really appreciate this change," Jeanie shared. "It started with the arrival of Rui Hachimura. And then, when the trade deadline approached, Rob Pelinka was able to redeploy the roster and bring in D'Angelo Russell. This trade was like a dream come true. real to me".

Russell was one of the first players of the Baby Lakers generation, who started their careers at Crypto.com Center after the peak of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.
D'Angelo Russell was selected in the second round of the 2015 Draft, and was considered the mainstay of the Lakers' rebuilding at the time, alongside Julius Randle. The two made their NBA debut together in the 2015/16 season, Kobe's last season.

The Lakers pushed Russell away after only 2 seasons. The team's CEO at the time, Magic Johnson, admitted that the trade took place after D-Lo exposed the case that senior Nick Young "cuckold" girlfriend Iggy Azalea.
The 27-year-old player did not lose his talent because of that, having entered the All-star team for the first time in 2019, even though he was playing for a not too strong Brooklyn Nets at that time. After 4 years, when his career began to enter maturity, Russell had the opportunity to continue pursuing the NBA championship with his first team in this tournament.
