Striker Harry Kane was criticized for being "embarrassed" for a foul that caused Abdoulaye Doucoure to receive a direct red card in the 1-1 draw with Everton on April 3.

58 minutes, when the score was 0-0, Kane contested, felling Demarai Gray in the middle of the field. Then, the English striker clashed and grabbed Doucoure's shirt. The Everton player lost his temper, raised his hand as if to poke Kane in the face, and the Tottenham captain immediately collapsed to cover his face. The incident caused confusion, when members of the two clubs got into an argument close to the touchline.

Referee David Coote immediately showed a red card to Doucoure. In the stands, Everton fans chanted "cheating, cheating", and Doucoure reacted violently, but VAR did not step in.

Many experts admit that Doucoure deserves a red card, but at the same time criticize Kane for "playing". MC Piers Morgan joked: "Think and pray for Kane tonight. Hope that kick doesn't end his career."

Danny Murphy, a former midfielder who played for Tottenham between 2006 and 2007, criticized Kane for "shaming himself". According to Murphy, Kane does not need to be punished because with the act of touching the opponent's face, Doucoure will definitely receive a red card. He added: "If my children reacted like that, I would apologize and probably have to sit in a dark room with a cold towel on my face. But Doucoure is a fool. He knows the rules and lets the home team down. hope".

On Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher shared his opinion when he thought that Doucoure deserved to be sent off for swinging his arm in the face of an opponent, but did not want professional players like Kane to be punished. "That situation is not enough for you to lie down like that. If my son did that, I would be very ashamed," commented the former Liverpool defender. "What I don't like is the players trying to get their teammates to get booked or sent off. I don't have a problem if they fall down, win the free-kick and immediately get up."

Meanwhile, Gary Neville defended Kane's response. The former Man Utd defender said: "If we were in the dressing room, we would say 'Good job Kane, you got the opponent red card'. I wouldn't do that, but I see no problem. when the striker in the team does so."

Everton coach Sean Dyche and Tottenham interim manager Cristian Stellini both correctly identified the referee when he showed Doucoure a red card.

Less than ten minutes after Doucoure was sent off, the numerical advantage was transformed by Tottenham into the lead. Michael Keane cut down Cristian Romero in the penalty area, helping Tottenham receive a penalty. From the penalty spot, Kane shot down to the left corner, fooling England teammate Jordan Pickford, scoring his 22nd goal in the Premier League this season. But in the 90th minute, Keane corrected himself with a cannon shot from outside the box that made Hugo Lloris staggered and set the score 1-1.

Tottenham currently have the same 50 points as Man Utd and are ranked above by more than goal difference, but missed the opportunity to occupy Newcastle's third place, while Everton rose to 15th. In the next round, Tottenham returned to home. Brighton and Everton marched to Man Utd's field on April 8.
