Just received the start of the NBA All-Star 2023, Luka Doncic has an ankle injury
The Dallas Mavericks superstar had to leave the field right from the first half of the match this morning (January 27) against the Phoenix Suns because his ankle was flipped. The injury occurred when Luka Doncic unfortunately stepped on the foot of an opposing player, namely Mikal Bridges.
Neither of them can see each other and this is a rather unlucky situation. Doncic tried to put pressure on his ankle but couldn't. Seconds later, the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff called a timeout so that Luka could leave the field and receive medical attention.
After examining in the dressing room, the medical team decided not to let Luka Doncic return to the field. He immediately had an X-ray and the results showed no bone damage.
Currently, the Dallas Mavericks have updated Luka Doncic's injury status as day-to-day with the reason of ankle flipping. It is not clear how long he will be sidelined with this injury.
Very unlucky for Luka Doncic when he just received the good news from being selected to the starting line-up for the 2023 NBA All-Star game.

Before playing today, Doncic is currently the player with the highest average score in the NBA this season with 33.8 points / game. Besides, he also leads the team in two important stats of 9.1 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game.
With the Dallas Mavericks, they have never won when Luka was sidelined this season, losing all 5 games. This is not a good sign for the team that is currently ranked 6th in the West with a total record of 26-24.
