Jogging 30km from Hoi An to Da Nang to propose to his girlfriend
Tran Linh (born in 1990) and his girlfriend Tuyet Chau (born in 1997) have known each other since they were students. Later, fate brought them to jogging and living together in the colors of HARC - a big marathon club in Quang Nam. Anh Linh said that the biggest mark in the dating period was that the two together conquered many big and small races across the country. "Sometimes I'm a pacer to guide my girlfriend. Sometimes we both run together. Every moment of fatigue, injury and victory, we have each other," Linh said.
After 9 years of love, Linh decided to propose to his girlfriend on December 11. To make his big day a runner, he wore sportswear, put on his shoes, held a bouquet of fresh flowers and jogged to his girlfriend's house.
From her house in Cam Kim commune (Hoi An city), Linh ran through Cau Pagoda to An Bang beach and followed the sea route towards Hoi An - Da Nang to Tuyet Chau's house. Total distance is about 30km. Behind, a group of HARC runners ran along as if to witness the love journey of the young couple.
Along the way, it rained quite heavily, Linh still kept the speed and did not rest once. "The rain was quite heavy, but I think that's lucky. To prove my love, this little difficulty can't be an obstacle," he said.
After about 3 hours of running continuously, the 32-year-old runner completed a 30km journey, present at his girlfriend's house, in Cam Le district, Da Nang city. At this time, Tuyet Chau was already waiting. She wore a runner outfit with a chiffon scarf on her head and went out to meet her boyfriend.
Receiving the flower bouquet from Mr. Linh, Tuyet Chau nodded in agreement to the marriage proposal. The two hugged each other under the blessing of friends around. "Despite the cold rain, but very happy to propose to the girl I love the most. This is the most special moment when I am proposed in the style of a runner, which is the pride of both", Mr. Linh said. Tran Linh and Tuyet Chau are both runners who have participated in MetaSports Marathon many times. Most recently, both ran 21km at VM Nha Trang. Anh Linh said that was the time the two had the opportunity to play together. He ran alongside his fiancée throughout the journey and saw it as a way to celebrate the 9-year journey of love. "We consider the track as a place to save our love. Hopefully in the future Chau and I will have more opportunities to run side by side," said the male runner.
Tran Linh is working in Hoi An while his wife Tuyet Chau works in a technology company. After the proposal, the two plan to hold a wedding party at the end of December this year. In 2023, the couple will continue to conquer the next marathons in their favorite places such as Hue and Quy Nhon.
