Indonesia is difficult to give up in Southeast Asia football
Countries moving the federation at the continental or regional level, all have precedent. The reason these countries may vary, but mainly because of politics or ambition to compete with higher competitors rather than "angry" like Indonesia.
Israel was a member of the Asian Football Federation (AFC) from 1954 to 1974. Because of political pressure on the countries of the Arabic Block around, Israel was eliminated from AFC in 1974. It took 18 years, Israel. Joining another Union is UEFA. While not in any federation, the team still attended the World Cup qualifier in some other areas such as Ofc (Oceania), Conmbol (South America) or UEFA.

Australia considered Israel's case as a precedent to join AFC in 2006, although their reason was different. They left Ofc in 2006 because the World Cup qualifying format was too difficult, when the top team still had to play play-off with a South American opponent. Since coming to AFC in 2006, Australia has always won the World Cup.
Australia also joined AFF in 2013, but never attended the AFF Cup. They only send a team of young women or women's football in Southeast Asia. But Australia was criticized for attending the East Asia Championship with EAFF teams in 2013, even though AFF members. The Australian Football Federation Mark Falvo once explained: "The Eaff Cup takes place in the summer in the Northern Hemisphere, on time for the A-League rest time so we can attend. And the AFF Cup often kicks in the winter, making Australia Australia Can not gather players to participate ".
Iran left Waff because of political conflicts with other Arab teams, like Israel. A leading strong team like Iran welcomed in CAFA is understandable.
Afghanistan simply wants to attend a stronger federation to improve the level, when they have the lowest FIFA order in CAFA. "We have the dream of attending the Asian Cup and even the World Cup," the Afghan coach Petar Segrt said. "That's why we changed the Federation, but there was no problem with Saff."
In the last three Saff Cups before leaving, Afghanistan all went to the final, once the championship. They are strong after India in South Asia, but when they joined the CAFA into the weakest team. Afghanistan still thinks that rubbing with stronger teams is the best way for them to grow.

India also contacted AFF to expect to invite young and female tournaments. Secretary General AIFF Kushal Das said in September 2021: "AFF's response is positive, but we are struggling with Covid-19 so we cannot participate. in Southeast Asia".
Eaff has been established for 20 years with nine members, and once admitted new members in 2008, with the Northern Mariana archipelago - the United States of the United States. For the fourth most populous country in the world and football enthusiastically like Indonesia, Eaff has positively responded when they expressed their wish to join, according to PSSI Mochamad Iriawan. But moving to East Asia is not necessarily beneficial to Indonesia, as the case of Australia or Afghanistan before.
EAFF does not organize a young tournament for U16, U19 or U23 systems like surrounding areas such as Southeast Asia, Central Asia or South Asia. If Indonesia joins Eaff, they are not sure to be rubbed with strong teams like Japan, Korea and China. Because, according to the formula of the East Asia Championship, these three teams are always in the Eaff Cup final round, where only four teams gathered. The remaining teams in the area will have to kick two qualifiers to select one more team to the final round.
Indonesia is not necessarily able to win this capacity, before opponents are not easy to play like North Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan or Hong Kong. Right in Southeast Asia, despite being one of the six AFF founding countries, Indonesia has never won the regional championship.
