Incident at the 2023 National 3x3 U23 Basketball Tournament: A fan suspected of being electrocuted had to be hospitalized

While watching the National 3x3 U23 Basketball Tournament in 2023 at the flagpole park behind Vung Tau City, a fan was unconscious due to an electric shock. The victim has been taken to the hospital.

The unfortunate incident happened this afternoon, Saturday, April 15. When the match was still going on, suddenly a fan lost consciousness due to electric shock.

Discovering the incident, many people and fans nearby shouted to notify the medical team and police stationed nearby. The tournament organizer immediately cut off the power bridge and suspended the competition.

According to initial information at the flagpole park area, the victim was able to regain his breathing due to timely and proper first aid. However, this person still needs to be taken to the hospital for further examination.

The official fanpage of the Vietnam Basketball Federation has announced the postponement of all matches on the evening of April 15, temporarily moving to the morning of April 16. Currently, the entire competition area has been cordoned off for electrical checks and safety considerations for the tournament to continue.

According to the original competition plan, the 3x3 basketball content of the 2023 National U23 Basketball Championship will kick off at 3:00 p.m. on April 15 at the flagpole park in the back yard, Vung Tau city.

But to handle some problems that arise, the matches have been moved to 16:00. Then, when the game was going on for more than 1 hour, the unfortunate incident happened.
