In 2022, the Vietnamese men's basketball team lost 3x3 to Chinese Taipei in the FIBA 3x3 Asian Cup

Nguyen Huynh Phu Vinh plays well at both ends of attack and defense. Unfortunately, that was not enough for the Vietnamese basketball team to win over Chinese Taipei in the opening match of the FIBA 3x3 Asian Cup in 2022.

As the Master of Li Ming, he became a little slow and couldn't use the opportunity to break it up early, instead of the physical race with the small and agile platform of his opponent.

For most of the game, the Vietnamese team let Taipei China take the lead but was able to persevere thanks to a uniform scoring performance.

If Chris Dierker used his body to score points under the basket, Nguyen Huynh Phu Vinh, Tran Dang Khoa and Vo Kim Ban performed quite well in the outer circle.

Vietnam Telephone had a 14-12 lead for a moment, followed by a chance to widen the gap on the free throw line. Soon after, Chinese Taipei responded with many difficult situations under the basket and a high success rate of free throws, rising to 17-16.

Nguyen Huynh Phu Vinh led the team with six points. This was followed by Khoa Tran and Chris Dierker, each with five points. Vo Kim Ban contributed a point to the team's performance.

Due to the harsh nature of the short-term competition, the teachers and students of coach Le Tran Minh Nghia no longer have the right to decide the tickets to continue the competition.

Now Vietnam must beat Thailand in today's match at 14:15, and then wait for the results of the last few matches between Thailand and Chinese Taipei to determine the possibility of qualifying for the official qualifying round.
