Portugal striker Huynh Nhu scored a penalty, helping Lank Vilaverdense win 2-1 away from Damaiense, in the 18th round of the Portuguese Women's Championship on April 15.

Scoring: Huynh Nhu 38, Schmidt 58 - Forbes 23

Huynh Nhu started and played the first half before leaving the field to make way for striker Maria Baleia. In 45 minutes on the field, the Vietnamese striker left a mark with a 1-1 equalizer from the penalty spot in the 38th minute, when she kicked in the upper left corner opposite the direction of the goalkeeper's movement.

This is Huynh Nhu's seventh goal for Lank, and her fifth at the Portuguese women's championship. She also ended a four-game streak without scoring for Lank. Before this match, the last goal of the captain of the Vietnamese team in Portugal took place on February 4, 2023.

After Huynh Nhu equalized, the Lank players ran to the temple to celebrate with her. Midfielder Cristiana Vieira and defender Madalena Marau also waved to invite more teammates to come and gather around Huynh Nhu.

After the break, coach Carlos Valadar brought two strikers Malu Schmidt and Baleia into the field to replace Huynh Nhu and defender Sara Alves. It was Schmidt who scored the decisive goal in the 58th minute to help Lank win 2-1. Three points help Lank hold onto sixth place, although still 10 points less than the team ranked above Famalicao. However, in the last two rounds, Lank has won the top two teams, Famalicao and Damaiense.

Huynh Nhu's goal has a great merit from striker Rita Dias, when she dribbled and was fouled in the away team's ban to help Lank receive a penalty. Earlier, striker Melanie Forbes opened the scoring for Damaiense in the 23rd minute.

This season, Huynh Nhu is second on the list of goalscorers for Lank with seven goals, while Schmidt is at the top with nine goals. But the Vietnamese striker's performance is better with 137 minutes per goal, compared to the Brazilian striker's 153 minutes per goal.

In round 19, Lank was a guest on Maritime's field on April 23.
