How Man Utd neutralize the penalty shootout
At Wembley Stadium on April 23, after drawing 0-0 over 120 minutes, Man Utd and Brighton had to settle their defeat with a penalty kick. Fans of "Red Devils" were worried at that time because before that, the team had lost seven of the last eight times, having to take a penalty shootout. In particular, Man Utd lost to lower-tier club Middlesborough in the fourth round of the FA Cup last season, and lost to Villarreal in the Europa League final in 2021.
But Man Utd showed bravery when successfully kicking all seven rounds, to win 7-6, win the right to the semi-finals. Ten Hag's army is aiming for a second title this season, after the League Cup championship.

Realizing that De Gea was in trouble, Casemiro encouraged and energized his teammates from the midfield line. The Brazilian midfielder jumped and waved to show De Gea how to move between goal and put pressure on the Brighton player. He shook his hands vigorously, kicked his legs in many directions and bounced to the sides to attract the eyes of his Spanish teammates.

Then, centre-back Victor Lindelof successfully took the kick to seal a 7-6 victory. British newspaper Sunsport likened Weghorst's kiss on the ball to a "kiss of death" with Brighton and brought a ticket to the FA Cup final for Man Utd.

After the match, Weghorst revealed that he wanted to take one of the first five kicks, but was not allowed by Ten Hag. However, he was still happy when he successfully shot the sixth round and contributed to helping Man Utd pass the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, De Gea is confident in the ability of Man Utd to beat Man City in the FA Cup final. Coach Ten Hag wants his students to focus on the last eight matches to complete the goal of finishing in the top 4 of the Premier League, before thinking about defeating the neighboring team in the FA Cup. According to the schedule, the FA Cup final will take place on June 3, a week after the closing round of the Premier League.
