Hot: The Lakers explode the first transfer blockbuster, recruiting Japanese bigman Rui Hachimura
As confirmed by two reputable journalists, Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Lakers have reached an agreement with the Washington Wizards to recruit Japanese bigman - Rui Hachimura.
The 24-year-old will make his way to the Lakers, while the one going in the opposite direction will be scoring defender Kendrick Nunn and multiple second-round picks. The details of the transaction are as follows:

This is the fourth season of Rui Hachimura's career since he was selected by 9th in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Three seasons ago, bigman born in 1998 averaged 13.5 points, 13.8 points and 11.3 points/match, respectively. A day ago, he just equaled the career-high milestone of 30 points (13-22 FG, 3-5 3PT) against the Orlando Magic.
Landing at the Los Angeles Lakers, Hachimura will play the role of a backup bigman for Anthony Davis or can start from the start, depending on the opponent and the choice of coach Darvin Ham.
In addition to his physique (2m03 height) and steel in the area below the basket, Hachimura can also throw 3 points with average efficiency.
According to statistician Kirk Goldsberry, Rui Hachimura will become the Lakers' best catch-and-shoot 3-pointer when he lands, reaching a rate of 41.3% over the past two seasons.
This is a positive signal for fans of the yellow and purple shirt team when they have many players who like to break through and push the ball out, for example LeBron James or Dennis Schroder.

Even so, one of the big weaknesses that the Lakers need to overcome is the improvement in 3-pointer rate that is still not present, at least in this exchange.
On the Wizards side, they will have another scorer at the back with Kendrick Nunn. Although the 27-year-old player is playing below expectations due to taking more than a year of convalescence, he still has faith from the leadership of the Washington team.
