Ha Tinh led the host 3-1 thanks to a double from Victor Mansaray and a goal from Hoang Vu Samson, but Ho Chi Minh City lost 3-4 in the 9th round of V-League 2023.

Playing at home against an opponent who is in bad shape - losing three and drawing in one of the last four matches, coach Nguyen Thanh Cong's teachers and students have a basis to aim for three points. However, Ho Chi Minh City entered the game better and opened the scoring in the 12th minute. From the right wing attack, the ball was passed into the home penalty area for Mansaray - an old Ha Tinh man - to rush into the scoring cushion. In the stands, the home fans were dumbfounded. Mansaray then ran to share the joy with a small group of fans from Ho Chi Minh City to cheer for the team.

However, similar to what happened recently, Ho Chi Minh City's defense was quite weak and could not withstand the pressure of Ha Tinh. 30 minutes, from the very right corner kick of captain Dinh Thanh Trung, the ball passed a few touches and was broken by a defender of the visiting team outside the 16m50 round. Thanh Trung was immediately present, launching a half-bouncing shot with his left foot from about 20 meters to knock down goalkeeper Pham Huu Nghia.

The equalizer helped the host prosper, continuously attacking dangerously thanks to Dinh Thanh Trung's maneuverability and dexterity. In contrast, Ho Chi Minh City actively kicked slowly to reduce Ha Tinh's excitement and suddenly scored the second goal in the third minute of compensation. Taking advantage of the chaos in the penalty area after a right corner, Mansaray headed home to make it 2-1. In the technical area, coach Vu Tien Thanh was happy, jumping up and hugging his associates. Many players from the away team also ran to the technical area, having fun with the teacher.

The surprise continued to come at the beginning of the second half, when Ho Chi Minh City raised the score to 3-1 with Hoang Vu Samson's chance to score, while Ha Tinh had not yet stabilized the squad.

Two goals behind, but time is long enough for Ha Tinh to try to reverse the situation. In the 63rd minute, Bui Van Duc broke through on the left wing and crossed for Paulo Pinto to shorten the score to 2-3. A minute later, the home team nearly equalized when Van Duc broke through the left wing and passed it in, but his teammates shot into the sky.

But Ha Tinh only had to wait until the 73rd minute to equalize. From a midway slot, Diallo escaped to face Huu Nghia and was illegally intercepted by defender Jonny Campbell in the penalty area. The referee immediately drew a red card to a foreign soldier from Ho Chi Minh City and pointed at the 11m mark. Thanh Trung was caught by Huu Nghia and blocked the first shot, but captain Ha Tinh still managed to hit the kick to score a goal. The ball from this kick hits the crossbar and then goes into the net.

Boosted up with an advantage over people, Ha Tinh attacked massively towards the end of the game and was rewarded with a goal to set the result 4-3 in the last minute of compensation. Van Long is the hero when he hits the alluvial rock after a good arrangement on the right.

The match ended soon after, causing the players of Ho Chi Minh City to collapse in the middle of the field because of disappointment and regret. On the host side, the entire Ha Tinh coaching staff jumped into the field with the bridges hugging each other to celebrate the victory. In the stands, thousands of home fans waved flags with excitement.

With these three points, Ha Tinh rose to sixth with 13 points. And Ho Chi Minh City is still at the bottom of the table with four points. In the 10th round, Ha Tinh was a guest on Nam Dinh's field, and Ho Chi Minh City returned home to Da Nang.
