Hanoi FC won 1-0 in the capital derby with Viettel at Hang Day Stadium in round 24, and is only one point away from the 2022 V-League championship.

Some Hai Phong fans have traveled far to Hang Day to cheer for Viettel, hoping that this team will defeat Hanoi so that their team can keep the top spot and continue to raise hopes of winning the V-League 2022. However, they had to leave disappointed when Hanoi won the capital derby, returning to the top. After 24 rounds, the capital team has 47 points, two points more than Hai Phong and one game less, holding a huge advantage in the race to the championship.

Lucas was the only one to score, bringing Hanoi victory over Viettel. But the first in the goal that took place in the 60th minute belonged to Le Xuan Tu. No. 25 escaped to the left and in the midst of the trio of Phan Tuan Tai, Le Thanh Binh and Tran Nguyen Manh, he could still pass in so Lucas could comfortably cushion the ball into an empty net to score.

Before the goal, Hanoi faced many difficulties against Viettel, the team with the best defense in the V-League 2022 when they only conceded 13 goals. The absence of captain Nguyen Van Quyet due to injury makes their attacks lack of mutation. Pham Tuan Hai and Mujan Tonci are often "hungry for the ball", unable to threaten goalkeeper Nguyen Manh's goal. The whole first half Hanoi had only one chance, Lucas escaped to the left before passing it back to Xuan Tu, but when no one was watching, 25 missed his shot so it was not dangerous, in the 25th minute. .

When the attack hit a stalemate, Hanoi's defense also played uncertainly when they lost the services of full-back Doan Van Hau (suspended) and Do Duy Manh (physical fitness is not guaranteed). It was thanks to the luck of coach Chun Jae-ho's team that they did not have to concede a goal in the first half. In the 29th minute, Gieovane's header made goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong only stand and watch, but the ball bounced off the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, it was Duy Thuong's turn to make coach Bae Ji-won hold his head in regret when he couldn't defeat the Hanoi goalkeeper in the face-to-face situation.

Witnessing the home team's stalemate, coach Bae Ji-won sent midfielder Do Duy Manh to replace striker Mujan Tonci in the 58th minute, switching from a 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 formation. Just two minutes later, the home team broke the deadlock with Lucas's goal after Xuan Tu's "cleaning up" pass. Ten minutes later, Lucas had a phase to escape to catch Van Kien's ball, volleying the ball to hit the crossbar before getting up and kicking Nguyen Manh's net. However, the border referee waved the flag to catch offside, making Hanoi's foreign soldiers regret the loss of the super product.

Hanoi then actively reduced the tempo of the match, playing firmly to preserve the score. They kept the result 1-0 until the final whistle sounded. With this result, Hanoi only needs one more point in the match against Ha Tinh in the next round to be crowned champion.
