Hanoi FC collapsed against Korean opponents
Even though they were not able to play the controlling style of play as they are good at, Hanoi did not enter the game too bad. Even the first clear opportunities belonged to the home team. In a chaotic situation in the Pohang penalty area, Van Quyet volleyed the ball past goalkeeper Hwang In-jae, but there was still an away team defender covering and clearing the ball on the goal line.
A few minutes later, the Hanoi captain made his mark again. This time it was a free kick, sending the ball to the far post for Tuan Hai to head in unmarked. However, goalkeeper Pohang still had time to react to save the goal. Squandering these opportunities, Hanoi paid the price when the opponent suddenly accelerated.
From defender Wanderson's cross, midfielder Le Tallec argued with striker Zeca on Pohang's side. But instead of clearing the ball, he headed it home. The Hanoi midfielder complained to the referee that he was fouled, but VAR did not think so.
