The detail of elbowing Mr. Nguyen Thanh in the chest, according to Hanoi FC, was just an accidental collision while Van Quyet prevented his teammates, and the striker did not intentionally infringe on the assistant referee's body.

One day after the incident on Quy Nhon field, Van Quyet actively apologized in the media, calling directly to receive the error with assistant Nguyen Thanh. At the same time, he also made an explanatory report to the leaders of Hanoi FC.

While running to give opinions, Van Quyet pushed referee Hoang Pham Cong Khanh. In addition to the direct red card, that time, he was banned for five matches and removed from the concentrated list of the Vietnamese team.

Up to the latest violation of Van Quyet, the Disciplinary Committee based on Clause 2(a) of Article 39 acts of bodily infringement, in the revised and supplemented VFF Disciplinary Regulations in 2023. Specifically, individuals were fined. from 30 to 40 million dong and suspending the competition, on duty from five to eight matches in case of repeated violations against one or more people.

If Hanoi FC's appeal is unsuccessful, Van Quyet will have to miss the remaining six matches of the first phase of the V-League 2023 and the 1/8 round of the National Cup against Viettel. If Hanoi FC wins Viettel, Van Quyet will rest in the quarterfinals of the National Cup. If he does not win, he has to take a break from the first match of the second phase of the V-League 2023.

The absence of the 32-year-old striker for 8 matches can greatly affect Hanoi FC's championship racing ambitions in two arenas. Currently, Van Quyet is the number one scorer of the capital team in the V-League with six goals.
