Haaland Police Investigation
Yesterday, Manchester police confirmed they were investigating the incident. If convicted, Haaland could have to pay about $240 and receive six penalty points on his driver's license.
Two days earlier, the Sun (UK) published an image showing Haaland using a mobile phone while driving. The incident is said to have happened on March 15, near the Etihad Stadium of Man City.
Haaland joined Man City in the summer of 2022. The English team had to pay a contract release fee of $ 63 million for the German team - Borussia Dortmund. In his first season playing for Man City, he contributed 42 goals in 37 games. Haaland has up to 18 games left to improve his performance, including 11 Premier League matches, two FA Cup matches and five Champions League matches.
Haaland is leading the race to be the Premier League's top scorer from 2022 to 2023 with 28 goals, seven goals more than second-placed Harry Kane. He is also leading the European Golden Shoe race with 56 points. Each goal in the top national championships equals two points. Kane and Victor Osimhen, strikers with 21 goals in Serie A, are second with 42 points.
Haaland is also leading the race to score the Champions League 2022-2023 with 10 goals, two more than Mohamed Salah. Salah and Liverpool club were eliminated in the round of 16. The player closest to Haaland with a chance to improve is Vinicius, a striker who has six goals for Real.
In the last international series, Haaland did not play for Norway due to a groin injury. It is not clear whether the 22-year-old striker will recover in time to play the Man City - Liverpool match on April 1.
