Haaland: 'My superpower is scoring goals'
"I told coach Pep Guardiola after being substituted that I wanted to score a hat-trick," Haaland told BT Sport after the game. "But the coach decided so, I know what to do."
Haaland scored five goals in just 37 minutes against Leipzig, all from one-touch finishes. Midfielders Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin de Bruyne also scored two beautiful goals, helping Man City win 7-0, a total score of 8-1 after two legs, to enter the quarterfinals. "I'm proud to play in the Champions League, and everyone knows I love it." Haaland added. "I'm very happy".
Haaland is the third player in Champions League history to score five goals in a single game, after Lionel Messi in 2012 and Luiz Adriano in 2014. In addition, there are 10 other players to have done this in what is also known as the C1 Cup. .
This is also the heaviest victory in Man City's history in European cups. They played intense presssing against Leipzig for most of the game, and scored many goals from both live and set pieces. "Man City should press more," Haaland added. "My superpower is to score, and today I did it without thinking. At all five goals, I just focused on shooting where the goalkeeper wasn't there."

Performance on the evening of March 14 helped Haaland have 11 goals after only six matches against Leipzig. Away defender Benjamin Henrichs says he has never lost 0-7 in his career. "Tonight was terrible for us," said the German defender. "Haaland is so fast and strong, with a lot of good qualities. We had too much trouble stopping him."
Haaland also rose to the top of the Champions League goalscoring list this season, with 10 goals in six games. In all competitions, he has scored 39 goals in 36 games for Man City this season. Haaland believes the team has played more directly than last season, thanks to strikers often exploiting space behind defenders. The 23-year-old superstar wants Man City to play their best in every game, to send a message to opponents that the team has great players.
