Golfer LPGA Tour Ironman contest to raise money for charity
On December 4, Van Dam will compete at Ironman 70.3 Indian Wells – La Quinta, with three consecutive challenges, starting with swimming 1.92 km, then cycling 90 km long distance, then jogging 21.1 km . She hopes to complete the exam in six hours.
On this occasion, Van Dam hopes to raise $50,000 from benefactors to help two-year-old Grace, who is hospitalized for epilepsy treatment of unknown cause. Things are going well because many colleagues and friends have joined hands to support Van Dam's heart for his colleague's daughter through the triathalon in California.
"I attended Ironman 70.3 because of Grace - a special little friend," Van Dam announced via Instagram. In that announcement, she said Grace had seizures and brain damage when she was 10 months old, after more than a year of treatment, she still did not get better. Currently, the family is struggling to pay for hospital fees and child care costs.

Van Dam is 27 years old and has been a member of the Ladies European Tour (LET) tournament since 2015, in the first year of her career. In 2019, she added a full-time slot on the LPGA Tour. To date, Van Dam has won five LET cups, but never won the first place in the American peerage system.
Besides golf, she has been playing triathlon since 2020, when the LPGA Tour as well as the LET closed for a few months because of Covid-19. Thereby, the Dutch player fosters his physical strength and will for the profession.
This week, Van Dam "heavy" swimming to prepare for Ironman 70.3. "I've swum 1.5 km twice. Tired than expected," she commented on Golfweek on December 1.
