Goalkeeper Filip Nguyen "breaks" the plan for the V-League

After a period of hunting, three teams in the V-League offered to lose before the fee that Vietnamese-born goalkeeper Filip Nguyen, who played in the Europa League, offered.

According to a source of MetaSports, Hanoi, Viettel and a rookie of the V-League 2023 all want to recruit Filip Nguyen. The overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper returned to Vietnam in November, talking with clubs.

However, the parties failed to reach an agreement. The kick-off fee - the amount the club pays the player separately in exchange for their acceptance of the contract - that Filip Nguyen wants to receive is up to $ 800,000 per year. In addition, any team that wants to take this goalkeeper has to pay a large amount to compensate for his remaining one-year contract with Slovacko club.

Filip Nguyen was born in 1992 to a Vietnamese father and a Czech mother. He grew up in the Sparta Praha youth academy, playing for the first team of this club before moving to a series of other teams such as Bydzov, Vlasim, Slova Liberec and Slovacko.

Filip Nguyen was once voted the best goalkeeper of the 2018-19 season by the Association of Professional Football Leagues. He was also called to the Czech national team but has never played, so he still has the opportunity to switch and play for the Vietnamese team. However, he currently does not have Vietnamese citizenship.

Binh Dinh had planned to recruit Filip Nguyen before the V-League 2022 but failed because this goalkeeper has no nationality - which means losing a spot for foreign soldiers. The Quy Nhon Stadium team then recruited Dang Van Lam in the mid-season.

Vietnam's professional football regulations will change from the 2023 season. In the V-League, each team is allowed to use an overseas Vietnamese player without nationality.

Mr. Nguyen Minh, Filip's father, once shared that staying in Europe was better for his career, but his son always wanted to return to Vietnam to play for his father's hometown.
