Foreign runner praises VM Hue running track

Registering to run the 42km full marathon at MetaSports Marathon Hue 2023 is part of Marco's plan, from Spain. Runner aims to complete a full marathon in under 3 hours. "Like the race in Malaga, Spain, the track is quite flat, the temperature is from 19-20 degrees, convenient for runners. But for this race, I am not sure if the track is straight or steep, the humidity, the temperature. ", he shared.

Hazael Allen and Stephanie Meredith, from Wales, are teachers of an international school in Ho Chi Minh City, and registered for a 10km distance. Both are colleagues, also "co-runs" who have participated in many running races in Vietnam together.

Hazael Allen said she studied the route that the organizers announced before the race. "We'll be running through a lot of Hue's historical landmarks," Hazael Allen enjoys. One of the reasons why this couple loves participating in running races is because they love to travel and explore new cities.

"I love Vietnam, especially Vietnamese cuisine. I will definitely try all the street food in Hue after I finish the race," Stephanie said. She jokingly said just get to the finish line before COT, run for fun and enjoy the road.

The couple have also scheduled to participate in the next marathons in May and July. "I wish I knew about this sport sooner. But it's never too late," said Stephanie with a laugh.

Conor Flaherty (26 years old, from Ireland, now living in Ho Chi Minh City), accompanied her girlfriend to the MetaSports Marathon Imperial Hue bib reception area. Although he often runs, this is his first time participating in a marathon with a distance of 21km. "I was quite surprised to receive a race kit with so many gifts," Conor Flaherty said.

"I signed up for the MetaSports Marathon Imperial Hue because Hue is not far from Ho Chi Minh City, the time is right. The race is an opportunity for me to visit, learn and experience the culture of a new land," he shared.

Conor Flaherty plans to complete the half marathon in under 2 hours. "The first challenge for me is that the race starts early in the morning, because I'm used to running in the evening. But the weather in Hue is cooler than in Ho Chi Minh City," Conor said.

In the third time coming to Hue, the MetaSports Marathon has a scale of 10,500 athletes.
