Foreign golfers break through at VGA Tour Championship 2022

With 66 strokes in the second round on December 20, Joel Troy took the top of the table with a score of -5 and led by five strokes in the grand final of the opening season of the domestic professional golf arena.

In the opening season of the professional arena with the name of VGA Tour, the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) uses par72 for the entire schedule of five tournaments, including the grand final of the Tour Championship at Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort, Vinh Phuc. . This award is considered as a big final to find the champion of the whole arena, with a bonus fund of 1.5 billion VND, of which 500 million VND is for the champion. Competitors will race for points through 4 laps, without cutting out.

The event is only for the top 30 pooled scoreboards, converted according to achievements through four stages, including Lexus Challenge, Vietnam National Championship, Vietnam Open, Vietnam Masters. After the penultimate stage, the top 3 respectively include Nguyen Huu Quyet, Joel Troy and Do Hong Giang.

Through two rounds of Tour Championship, Troy monopolized the top of the table (point -5), while Hong Giang ranked sixth (+4), while Huu Quyet was in T13 (+9).

Troy is five strokes away from the deadliest fighter – Park Jung Min. Right after Park Jung Min is Brian Jung (+2), and T4 (+3) has Dinh Song Hai and Doan Van Dinh.

In the first round, only Van Dinh got a negative score (-2) and thus occupied the top of the table. In the second round, the former national amateur champion 2012 dropped to form, hit 77 strokes, and in the end, four players scored negative, including Troy -6, Jay Park and Park Sang Ho with -3 and Song.
