Farewell to 3 injured stars, the NBA All-Star 2023 squad welcomes 3 new members

Replacing the injured Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Zion Williamson are three new NBA All-Star players, representing the Timberwolves, Raptors and Sacramento Kings.

According to the official announcement from the tournament organizers, the NBA All-Star 2023 match will have 3 new players, added to replace three players who are injured and unable to attend.

The new All-Star trio includes defender Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), forward Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors) and defender De'Aaron Fox (Sacramento Kings).

These names will replace Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Zion Williamson, three players who will still be named All-Stars but will not attend this annual game.

Stephen Curry has just picked up a leg and heel injury and is expected to be out for weeks. Zion Williamson is dealing with a right hamstring injury.

Kevin Durant, who has just created a super blockbuster exchange from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns, is still sidelined because of the MCL ligament stretching in his right knee.

Because all three of these All-Star players were included in the starting lineup, the tournament organizers decided to promote 3 players from the reserve to the main team including Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Lauri Markkanen (Utah). Jazz) and Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies).

This will be the first NBA All-Star game for De'Aaron Fox and Anthony Edwards, the talented young defender duo of the NBA West.

While Fox is averaging 24.2 points, 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game, Edwards is the No. 1 star in the Timberwolves, achieving career-high in four stats including points (24.7 PPG), rebounds (6.0 RPG), assists. (4.6 APG) and steal the ball (1.6 SPG).

With Pascal Siakam, the Cameroonian striker will attend the second All-Star match in his career (first in the 2019-20 season). The Toronto Raptors player is currently averaging 25.0 points with 8.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game.

The 72nd NBA All-Star game in NBA history will take place on Monday morning, February 20, Vietnam time. LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo are captains.

They will select team members on a rotational basis right before the game, a common image at basketball games around the world.
