Draw for the finals of VSBL 2023: Marie Curie Middle School vs Experimental Secondary School
After nearly 5 months of competition, 144 matches took place throughout Hanoi city, with the participation of 48 teams and nearly a thousand athletes, the Junior High School Student Basketball Tournament 2023 - TNTP & Children's Newspaper - VSBL 2023 ended the group stage to find 24 excellent teams to participate in the final round.
This afternoon (March 10) at the headquarters of the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, the drawing ceremony for the final round of VSBL 2023 took place. Attending the ceremony were Journalist Nguyen Tran Chau - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of TNTP&ND newspaper, Deputy Head of BTC prize; Mr. Nguyen Phu Duc - Head of Social Department of Viet Sports Content Joint Stock Company (The owner of TV Basketball); Mr. Phan Thanh Binh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Sports Education (ASA) and Mr. Nguyen Son Tung - Referee of the Vietnam Basketball Federation.
During the ceremony, Journalist Nguyen Tran Chau thanked all the teams for the attendance and support, and shared the plan in September 2023 the VSBL tournament will be held in 3 North, Central, South.
Mr. Phan Thanh Binh then had discussions about the professional quality of the first round, along with the announcement of the regulations in the final round. Accordingly, the 3-second defense rule will be applied in the final round with all teams. The 12 group winners will draw a draw with the 12 second-place teams to find the 1/12 matches. In the quarter-finals, the 6 winning teams in round 1/12 and the 2 losing teams with the best difference will be divided into pairs to compete.
The final round of VSBL 2023 will take place at Olympia High School from April 1 to April 23. Matches will be played from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. In the first round, the two teams with the most points in the tournament were Cao Ba Quat High School and Vinschool Metropolis Middle School with 311 points. Dang Ngoc Quang Minh is the player who scores the most points in the tournament with 143 points and is followed by Nguyen Dinh Nhat Huy with 113 points.
