France Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma recounted how he and his wife were assaulted and robbed at their home.

"Suddenly I saw a lot of strangers at home at three in the morning. It was the worst feeling possible," Donnarumma told Libero, Italy on July 22. "I was tied up and Alessia was forced to give away everything of value we had."

Donnarumma is not completely fluent in French. Therefore, he could not explain to the robbers about valuables in the house. "I was very worried that something might happen to Alessia. I was helpless, tied up and unable to do anything," added Donnarumma.

Donnarumma and Alessia were tied up when robbers broke into the couple's home in Paris on the morning of July 21. After that, the criminal group left with assets worth about 550,000 USD.

After untying themselves, Donnarumma and Alessia went to a hotel near the shelter. They asked the hotel staff to call the police, then went to the hospital for further treatment. Police are investigating the incident.

Donnarumma has been with PSG since 2021. He joined on a free transfer from AC Milan and signed a contract until June 2026. Donnarumma has contributed to two Ligue 1 titles and a French Super Cup. According to the Italian press, Juventus is contacting to buy this goalkeeper.

Donnarumma is not the first PSG player to have his home robbed in recent years. Before that, Angel Di Maria, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Mauro Icardi were also victims of the Paris criminal gangs.

Donnarumma did not participate in the friendly match PSG beat Le Havre 2-0 on the evening of July 21. The main catcher is the reserve goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier. However, Donnarumma still travels with the team to Japan, where they will meet Al Nassr on July 25, Cerezo Osaka on July 28 and Inter Milan on August 1.

Kylian Mbappe is not on PSG's tour list. Leaders of the team are selling the 24-year-old striker, to avoid losing everything in 2024. If not sold, PSG can punish Mbappe by benching the whole 2023-2024 season.
