Doan Van Hau left the Vietnam team

Doan Van Hau was in pain but still focused on following the Vietnamese team's schedule at the VFF Youth Football Training Center on September 1.

After the team's medical examination, coach Philippe Troussier agreed to let the 1999 defender return to the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) to recuperate. He will therefore miss the friendly match on September 11 against Palestine at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh).

Van Hau played 18 out of 20 matches for CAHN in V-League 2023, with 15 full 90 minutes played. In addition to winning the championship, he also entered the tournament's outstanding team.

Under coach Troussier, Van Hau started in the 1-0 wins against Hong Kong and Syria in June, with 75 and 63 minutes respectively. He used to be an important factor in the 3-4-3 formation under Coach Park Hang-seo.

The team currently has Hoang Thai Binh as a left-back, in addition, Vu Van Thanh and Trieu Viet Hung can also play against their forte. The team's number is reduced to 30 players, in which striker Cong Phuong of Yokohama FC and Nguyen Van Toan of Seoul E-Land are expected to join the army tomorrow.

After two days of closed training, the Vietnamese team opened its doors to the press this afternoon, September 3. Coach Troussier continues to mix the national team and U23 teams in training.

Tomorrow, the U23 team will move to Phu Tho to prepare for the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers. The team plays their opening match against Guam on September 6.
