Doan Van Dinh leads round 1 of VGA Tour Championship 2022

Finishing the opening round on the afternoon of December 19, only Doan Van Dinh was below par and leading with a score of -2 at the grand final of the opening season of the domestic professional golf arena.

On the par72 course of Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort, Vinh Phuc, Van Dinh finished the first round with 70 strokes, with a scoreboard of 4 birdies and 2 bogys. In this leg, former national amateur champion 2012 and Brian Jung scored the most birdies. However, Jung had four bogeys, so he stood at T2 (even par) next to Park Jungmin.

Opening day recorded Tang Nhon Phu hole-in-one at hole 14 with an oasis green. This house is designed similar to the 17th hole at the Stadium of TPC Sawgrass golf complex, where the PGA Tour organizes The Players Championship, which is known as the "unofficial major". In this top 3, Troy has the best performance on the first day of the VGA Tour Championship, Hong Giang has not prospered, through 74 strokes with two birdies and four bogeys while Huu Quyet "struggling". Huu Quyet scored a triple bogey on the opening hole, followed by three birdies and six bogeys. With that result, Huu Quyet ranked in T17 (+6), Hong Giang in T6 (+2).

In 2022, the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) will start deploying a professional golf tournament system with the name VGA Tour, following the international model in which deciding the championship of the whole system similar to the US PGA Tour with the FedEx table. Cup and Grand Tour Championship final for the top 30 in East Lake, Atlanta. The DP World Tour (the new name of the European Tour) also applies the same way, through the rankings with the same name of the arena, but the closing tournament in Dubai opens to the top 50.
