Djokovic is underrated after Wimbledon

Veteran coach Patrick Mouratoglou believes that Novak Djokovic is no longer difficult to beat after losing the Wimbledon final to Carlos Alcaraz.

Coach Mouratoglou believes that one of Djokovic's biggest weapons compared to his juniors is his mental stability at an important moment. This was not evident when Djokovic played Alcaraz on July 16.

"Alcaraz can win because it feels comfortable taking shots at the crucial moment," said Mouratoglou in a video posted on his Instagram account on July 24. "It was an intense match and normally Djokovic would have dominated. But he hit the net several times as Alcaraz increased the difficulty of the shots."

Mouratoglou thinks Djokovic can steer the match in an easier direction if he wins a tie-break in the second set, where he leads 3-1, then 6-5. In the opposite direction, Alcaraz also had the opportunity to start the fourth set, while leading 2-1 in the set, but could not take advantage and both had to enter the fifth set.

"I think Djokovic can now be beaten," added Mouratoglou. "The weight of always being considered number one, even number one in history, is on Djokovic's shoulders. In terms of level, Alcaraz is very close to Djokovic even when losing at Roland Garros. Djokovic can of course play better. in the Wimbledon final but he was very nervous."

Former coach of Dominic Thiem, Mr. Gunter Bresnik also said that Djokovic is facing many problems at the end of his career. One of the problems is the absence of two rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

"Continuous competition with good players has taken Djokovic to the top," said coach Gael Monfils. "It's not just the specific matches, but also the pre-tournament preparation and the mentality to enter. The competition clearly does not exist between Djokovic and Alcaraz. Djokovic may lose motivation because of the lack of Federer, Nadal ".

Coach Bresnik thinks Alcaraz played more freely than Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Keeping the mind not too stressed, plus the youth helped Alcaraz overcome the difficult time to beat Djokovic.

Regarding the level of tennis, Bresnik thinks that the 20-year-old talent has not reached the "Big 4" level. He said: "I think at the top, Federer, Nadal or even Murray is still better than Alcaraz now. If Nadal returns to his best form, he can completely compete with Alcaraz."
