According to Cuatro, being cut off by Joana made Alves "completely broken down and very worried", and even wanted to be "locked in a cell" for most of the day at Brians 2 - the prison where he was being held by Mr. allegation of sexual assault.

After briefly sharing a cell with another inmate, Alves is now in his own cell. The 39-year-old defender is also "on hunger strike" and sometimes fasts all day.

According to Cuatro, during the first time in prison, Alves once told other inmates that thanks to Joana's love and support, he felt everything was fine. The separation of his wife made the Brazilian defender "shocked", because he did not expect something like this to happen.

Alves and Joana have been dating since 2015, then held a wedding ceremony in Ibiza, Spain on July 8, 2017. Before marrying Joana, the former Barca and Juventus defender had two children with his first wife.

In the letter posted on Instagram on March 15, Joana emphasized that she will always love Alves, but still have to continue with her own life. "I am and will continue to be, but in a different way. But I love, respect, and value myself much more. Forgiveness is a relief, and I close this phase of life, starting on May 18, 2015," she wrote.

Now, with that pain still fresh but slowly healing, Joana wants to return to her normal life as a model and gain support from her fans. "If you could have three wishes, what would you wish for?", Joana asked herself, then answered: "The truth is that I only need one wish, which is health, because with that you can do all. ".

Alves was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting another girl in a nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022. Since then, the 39-year-old defender has been held at Brians 1 prison without bail. After three nights, Alves was transferred to Brians 2 - where most of the prisoners were accused of sexual assault - located in the municipality of Sant Esteve Sesrovires, 40 kilometers from Barcelona.

Alves was warmly received by the other inmates, as he was said to be very friendly, humble, simple, sociable and talkative. At the end of February, Alves was denied bail by the Spanish Court and could face one to two years in prison, until his case is brought to trial.

Alves played his last professional match on January 8, when he and UNAM Pumas played Juarez in the Mexican league. After Alves was arrested, UNAM Pumas claimed that the 39-year-old player had breached an agreement covering the allegation of rape, terminated his contract and demanded financial compensation of $5 million.
