Comments West Ham vs Southampton: Efforts to escape
Southampton are trying to do everything, including changing generals to escape the scythe of death. Although not yet out of the bottom of the table, the Southern team started to send out positive signals. In the last 4 rounds, Southampton only once fell empty-handed, the rest won 1, drew 2.
Notably, within a few days, The Saints held two big men, MU and Tottenham, respectively. Currently, Southampton has accumulated 23 points, 3 points less than the nearest relegation position. This is not too big a difference and can be completely leveled within a day or two.
If they maintain their current form, Southampton can completely hold back or even beat West Ham, thereby opening up hope for an escape. Like Southampton, West Ham is also experiencing a forgettable season when ranked 3rd from the bottom, with only 1 point more than the Southern team. The last two rounds West Ham earned only 1/6 of the maximum points when losing to Brighton 0-4 and drawing Aston Villa 1-1. Notably, West Ham went through the 4th consecutive match unable to beat Southampton, with 2 draws, 2 losses.
