Coach Seoul E-Land has high expectations for Nguyen Van Toan

Korean coach Park Choong-kyun hopes that foreign soldiers will make many contributions to Seoul E-Land this season, including striker Nguyen Van Toan.

"Van Toan is a qualified player," coach Park Choong-kyun shared at noon on February 14. "I hope his strengths will be of great help to the club this season."

According to Mr. Park, Van Toan's advantage is his speed and good technique to kick the wing in attack, in addition, he can create mutations and adapt to many diagrams and tactics. Head coach Seoul E-Land added: "We recruited Van Toan with the help of Coach Park Hang-seo. I think he has worked with Korean coaches for a long time, so he integrated with the new club faster than me. thought".

In addition to the Vietnamese striker, Seoul E-Land also signed two Brazilian strikers and a Japanese midfielder. Mr. Park said that new players need more time to adapt, but assessed that they have a desire to advance to achieve their goals. "I have great expectations from foreign players," he emphasized.

Coach Park Choong-kyun knew Van Toan when he led Hanoi FC at the V-League 2021 and the tournament was canceled because of the epidemic. At the beginning of the 2022 season, he suddenly left the capital team and at the end of the season got a new job at Seoul E-Land.

Before Coach Park Choong-kyun, Van Toan worked with Coach Park Hang-seo in the national team and U23 Vietnam. At HAGL, he was led by Technical Director Chung Hae-seong in 2018, coach Lee Tae-hoon in 2019 and 2020. Initially, HAGL did not want Van Toan to leave, after allowing Cong Phuong to go to Japan. So far, the 26-year-old striker has returned to Korea for nearly two weeks, with the team going to Changwon to train for two weeks before kicking off the K-League 2 opening match against Cheongju on March 1.

Seoul E-Land was established in 2014, taking Mokdong Stadium with a capacity of 15,500 seats as home. The team only played in the K-League 2 with the best record being fourth in 2015. Last season, the team placed seventh and set their sights on the top this season, then aiming for promotion to the K-League 1.
