Coach Park left open the possibility of returning to take charge
Coach Park bid farewell to the Vietnamese team from January 31, 2023. Nearly seven months later, he still has not accepted an invitation to lead another team or club despite receiving many offers, especially in Southeast Asia. According to the Korean leader, he will only return to lead a team if he has the right to choose a close companion, from assistants, fitness coaches, to technical analysis teams...
"I have to meet those conditions before I consider becoming a head coach," Park said in front of Vietnamese and Korean media on the afternoon of August 30. "It's a bit arrogant to say this, but my abilities have been proven in Southeast Asia."
Coach Park revealed that the invitations he received after leaving Vietnamese football mainly came from Indonesia and Malaysia. This leader will also firmly refuse to lead the Vietnamese and Korean teams.
Besides waiting for a suitable environment that meets all the conditions he desires, the 64-year-old coach said there are a number of other factors that make him not rush back to professional football. In the immediate future, he focuses on developing Vietnamese youth football, and sees it as a way to repay the love of the fans.
Coach Park Hang-seo's football academy has been operating since June 2023 with two campuses in Hanoi, but it was only opened today on August 30. The academy focuses on training from U9 to U15, with the view that "15 is the latest age for a young player to enter professional football".
Mr. Park also built a Pyramid model with the bottom being teaching football in large numbers according to wishes and interests. In the middle, the academy focuses on selecting excellent factors to form a team for the youth tournament. At the top level, selected students will be given the opportunity to follow professional football.
Coach Park does not directly coach, but provides technical support to the academy's specialized coaching team. He personally selected coaches with the mandatory criterion of having a B license issued by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The team of assistants and teaching assistants was also personally selected and trained by Mr. Park.
