According to coach Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's situation could have been brighter if they took advantage of the opportunities created by Mohamed Salah.

Salah scored both goals for Liverpool in the 2-1 win over Tottenham in the 15th round of the Premier League on the evening of November 6. The 30-year-old striker has thereby increased the number of goals scored and assisted to 19, after the first 20 matches of the 2022-2023 season. This is his second best in nearly six seasons with Liverpool.

However, Liverpool are only eighth in the Premier League, with 19 points from 13 games. Coach Klopp explained: "When you look at Salah's stats, goals and assists, it's crazy. Even with a slow start, he was involved in most of the opportunities. The problem is we didn't catch them, or he didn't take advantage of it."

Salah currently owns 170 goals for Liverpool, ranking eighth in the list of most goals in club history. He is only two goals behind seventh-placed Kenny Dalglish, sixth-placed Robbie Fowler by 13 and fifth-placed Steven Gerrard by 16.

According to Klopp, Salah will soon surpass the top three former players. The Egyptian star has at least four years of his peak career left and is in good form. "In the end, when you look back on Salah's career in four, five or six years, you'll remember one of the best strikers you've ever seen. Today, the thing that pleases me the most is that he scored. two goals and then play like a real player for his teammates," Klopp shared.

In the victory over Tottenham, Klopp showed enthusiasm. The German coach seemed to release all his sadness after two consecutive defeats against Nottingham and Leeds. "Yes, it's true that I'm a bit too excited, but this is a huge win," Klopp insisted.

Currently, only seven points behind Tottenham's fourth place and played a few more games.
