Hanoi Satisfied after the first victory in the V-League 2023, but coach Kiatisuk Senamuang admitted he was surprised with the 4-1 result against Viettel.

HAGL this season suffered a great loss when a series of stars left, such as Cong Phuong, Van Toan, Xuan Truong, Van Thanh..., and had to use many young players instead. That fluctuation directly affects the results of the competition, as shown by the fact that Germany's team completely completed the first four rounds of the V-League 2023.

However, in the earliest match of round 5 on April 6, HAGL shocked the host Viettel 4-1 with goals from Chau Ngoc Quang, Tran Minh Vuong, Nguyen Quoc Viet and Paollo. "I'm very satisfied with this match. But I was also surprised when the home team won big," said coach Kiatisuk after the match at Hang Day Stadium.

According to the Thai leader, HAGL entered the match with a cautious attitude because Viettel was very strong, having just won 6-0 in the National Cup and previously defeated Hanoi Police 2-1 in the V-League. "We advocated to prioritize solid defense, try to focus. We scored early, but let the opponent equalize quickly. That made us a bit confused. But in the second half, the team was also early. scored, plus a little luck, so we won," Kiatisuk added.

In this match, HAGL opened the scoring from the 13th minute, when Chau Ngoc Quang escaped to defeat goalkeeper Pham Van Phong. But just eight minutes later, Viettel equalized from the penalty of midfielder Bui Tien Dung, because Tran Minh Vuong let the ball touch his hand in the penalty area after Truong Tien Anh's shot.

After the second half of the first half was deadlocked, HAGL suddenly opened up with a beautiful free kick from Minh Vuong at the beginning of the second half. That situation forced Viettel to push up the squad to find an equalizer, only to reveal a lot of space for HAGL to counterattack. The away team therefore scored two more goals thanks to Nguyen Quoc Viet and Paollo, to fix the result 4-1.

According to Kiatisuk, the departure of the pillars on the one hand caused HAGL to suffer losses, but at the same time created opportunities for young players to show their abilities and then gradually became more confident. "We drew the first four games, but it was also an opportunity for the young players to gain experience, and then win their first win today. I believe this group of players will play better and better, because they have capable and completely able to do like the seniors," added coach Kiatisuk.

Coach Kiatisuk also revealed that he had met and discussed with the new head coach of Vietnam team Philippe Troussier on the occasion of going to Hanoi to play Viettel. "Troussier asked me how many players HAGL can play for U23 Vietnam. I invited him to watch the team play against Viettel. When I got good results, I let young players in to coach Troussier. can watch them play. We will support 100% if he summons HAGL's players," said HAGL's leader.

In this match, coach Kiatisuk used a number of young players such as Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Tran Bao Toan, Nguyen Duc Viet - all of which are great potentials of the contemporary generation.
