Clubs ready to race MetaSports Marathon Hue

A few days before the MetaSports Marathon Imperial Hue 2023, the members of the largest running club in Thua Thien Hue - Hue Runners (HUR) completed the training plan and ran many test runs to get used to it. Competing at home, this becomes the key tournament of the year for the land runner of the ancient capital. "From the day the MetaSports Marathon came to Hue in 2020, the practice movement increased, so you are always ready to participate in the tournaments," said Ms. Nguyen Ngot, representative of Hue Runner.

More than 300 official members and relatives of HUR will compete in four clear distances on the morning of April 16. In the past three months, the training atmosphere in the club has become more lively and enthusiastic. All are confident and have personal goals.

In addition to the fixed training session, the club divides members into small groups and has private practice sessions. "The target runner sub3 will have their own training plan, similar to the sub3:30, sub3:45 or fun run target groups," Ms. Ngot said. With the home field advantage, they are familiar with the weather and the road, so many athletes confidently aim to break personal records.

In addition to physical training, HUR also organizes a series of community events to celebrate the tournament, including a tree planting program for schools. "Come here, we will call on runners from all over the country to participate in this activity when they come to Hue to attend the VM," said the club's management. After the race, the club held a small party with brothers and sisters from all over the country.

Meanwhile, in the Northern region, 30 members of Liverpool Vietnam Runners (LVR) have also completed the training plan and are achieving the best state of mind both physically and mentally. From the provinces, they gathered in Hanoi on the afternoon of April 14, moving to Hue by the BTC train arranged for athletes to attend the MetaSports Marathon. "We travel by train to show solidarity and collective spirit. At the same time, it is also a suitable means of transportation for many people," said runner Pham Hong Quang, a representative of LVR.

MetaSports Marathon Hue is the first tournament that LVR has up to 30 members competing under the club shirt. The whole team will participate in a cohesive spirit, not letting anyone run alone, being a support for confident newcomers, participating in the following tournaments. "We will arrange good runners to accompany, motivate and pull the first-time runners to the finish line safely, creating a good impression and experience for new runners," said Quang. said.

To celebrate the first time the group came to VM, they will put on red shirts together, singing the traditional song of Liverpool Football Club before the start time. Attending this tournament, in addition to individual goals, Liverpool Vietnam Runners also wants to spread the image of the club and recruit more runners who share the same love of football across the country.

Famous for its beautiful running route and convenient geographical location for runners of the two regions to gather, VM Hue has become a key tournament for many clubs. Especially for groups with members from all over the country like Viettel Runners. 50 members will gather in the ancient capital on April 16. "Club members in Hue will welcome you, support everyone with places to eat and stay so that it is convenient to travel," shared Minh Chau, a representative of the club.

Many male members of the club set a goal of sub3, sub3:30 FM, others want a personal record, so before the tournament, all runners will completely rest. The journey to discover Hue city, meeting brothers and sisters, and exchanging will take place after all reach the destination safely.

Not only a sports event for the movement, Viettel Runner considers this as a teambuilding activity, to bond with colleagues. They feel proud when they see team colors in tournaments.

"Working in the same corporation, but in different units and provinces, sometimes we don't know each other's faces. MetaSports Marathon Imperial Hue 2023 will start at 3am on April 16.
