Champions League quarter-final draw
*Continue to update
The eight quarter-finalists include Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea, Inter, Man City, Milan, Napoli and Real Madrid. Serie A leads with three representatives, the Premier League has two, and Benfica is the only team outside the Top 5 European leagues. Napoli are the only team to reach the quarterfinals for the first time in the tournament. They and Man City have never won the Champions League or the C1 Cup before.
Eight balls containing the names of the teams in the quarterfinals will be placed in a basket. The first drawn team plays the first leg at home, and the second team plays the first leg away. This process is repeated until four pairs of matches have been completed.
Immediately after that, the organizers will draw a draw for the semi-finals, from a basket containing four balls marked "quarter-final winner" one to four. Similarly, the ball drawn first represents the team kicking the first leg at home.
Finally, the organizers will draw a draw to select the "home" team in the final, with the same privilege as choosing a shirt color.
The first leg quarter-finals will be played on April 11 and 12, and the second legs will be played a week later. The teams will kick the first leg semi-finals on May 9 and 10, after a week is the return leg. The 2023 Champions League final this season will take place on June 10 at Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
Because Inter and Milan share the same pitch, they will not play at home on the same night or a day apart, so the two teams cannot play the first leg at home or the second leg at home. If the draw results put these two teams in the same situation, the order of Inter will be reversed, while Milan will remain unchanged because they are the reigning Serie A champions.
