QatarVincent Aboubakar scored in the 90+2 minute, helping Cameroon defeat Brazil 1-0 in the final match of Group G of the World Cup 2022.

Before the match against Cameroon, Brazil had tickets to the 1/8 round. Therefore, coach Tite kept only two main players compared to the 1-0 win over Switzerland, Eder Militao and Fred. Goalkeeper Ederson, centre-back Bremer, right-back Dani Alves, Everton midfielder Ribeiro and striker Pedro all made their first appearances at the 2022 World Cup.

Using many "second-tier" players, but Brazil still prevailed against Cameroon. The South American team controlled the ball 65%, and launched 19 shots towards the opponent's goal. Meanwhile, the African representative had only 35% of the ball and six shots.

In the 14th minute, Brazil almost opened the scoring. Striker Martinelli headed towards the Cameroon goal, but failed to beat goalkeeper Epassy.

Cameroon has to spend most of the time trying to defend. In the first 32 minutes, the effort to prevent Brazil from scoring caused the African representative to receive three yellow cards. Cameroon also had to wait until the 20th minute to have a real attack on the goal of goalkeeper Ederson.

After the break, Cameroon started to hit the ball more. The African representative can enter the 1/8 round if he wins Brazil, while Serbia wins Switzerland in the match at the same time. In the 54th minute, Aboubakar started to cause a storm for Brazil with a shot off goal.

In the middle of the second half, the match fell into a tug-of-war. Cameroon has difficulty controlling the ball, while Brazil does not really want to win. Coach Tite only launched two players who regularly kicked in as a substitute, Marquinhos and Raphinha.

The turning point of the game came in the second minute of injury time. The cross from the right wing of Cameroon eliminated the entire Brazilian defense. Aboubakar crossed into the box, lightly headed the ball into the far corner, while goalkeeper Ederson stood rooted.

Aboubakar received a second yellow card for taking off his shirt. Previously, the Cameroon striker received the first card in the 81st minute.

The victory over Brazil helped Cameroon win four points, but could not continue. In the same match, Switzerland beat Serbia 3-2 to keep second place, with six points. Brazil also has six points, but leads thanks to a higher goal difference. In the 1/8 round, Brazil will meet South Korea. Meanwhile, Switzerland plays Portugal.
