Burning "Capital derby": Hanoi Buffaloes beat Thang Long Warriors for the second time in a row
True to the intense nature of the "Capital derby", Hanoi Buffaloes and Thang Long Warriors gave a very beautiful competition to the audience.
Warriors, despite the absence of foreign soldier Sameen Swint, still fought bravely thanks to the brilliance of veteran internal soldiers. On the other side of the front line, Hanoi Buffaloes maintained a high performance after a series of victories in Ho Chi Minh City to extend the sublimation circuit.

Both Thang Long Warriors and Hanoi Buffaloes from the beginning of the season have had bright performances from young players such as Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vu Viet Hoang, Tran Phi Hoang Long or Pham Nhat Thai Quang.
But in the game that needs the cool head of the experienced pillars, both the Warriors and the Buffaloes have the voices of veteran internal soldiers.

Truong Hoang Trung (12 points, 3 assists, 6-8 FT) and Le Hieu Thanh (12 points, 4-11 3PT, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) played well for the capital team.
On the other side of the front line, Nguyen Tien Duong (scoring a series of 12 consecutive points in the second half) and Tam Dinh (7 points in the fourth round) took turns to speak up at an important moment.
Without Sameen Swint, Thang Long Warriors lacks the player with the best scoring ability in the team. Since then the ball has been rotated to the remaining names, the most being John Fields.
Today, the striker wearing the number 22 shirt continued to have a highly effective match with 13-16 FG, struggling at the bottom of the basket with 30 points, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks. Fields' counterpart was Anthony January, the owner of 29 points and 8 rebounds.

But in addition to these two names, Hanoi Buffaloes has 3 other players reaching the 10-point mark including Udun Osakue, Dinh Tien Cong and Nguyen Tien Duong.
As for the Warriors, they only have a total of 24 points from the duo Truong Hoang Trung and Le Hieu Thanh. This same duo are the two names with successful 3-point results (6-16 3PT). The rest of the Warriors threw 0-9 3PT.
Not making good use of the opportunities they had, the Warriors allowed the Buffaloes to go up in points and by the end of the game, they didn't have enough time or opportunity to come back.

The fact that Thang Long Warriors did not have Swint seemed to make the "derby" match less hot, but their fighting spirit made the competition against Hanoi Buffaloes much more intense and exciting.
Thus, in VBA Regular Season 2023, Hanoi Buffaloes won all 2 matches against rival Thang Long Warriors, both with a close difference. The next meeting of the two capital teams will take place at 19:30 pm on 8/8 at Hoang Mai National Stadium.
