Brazil is in the same group with… Argentina in the South American Under-20 Championship
South American Football Confederation CONMEBOL has drawn the group draw for the South American Under-20 Championship and Brazil is in Group A with Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay and Peru.
The tournament will be held in Colombia from January 19 to February 12. In Group B, Ecuador, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile and Bolivia face each other.

Ramon Menezes is the coach of the Brazil U20 team and announced the squad with the emphasis on strikers Endrick, 16, from Palmeiras, Marcos Leonardo and Angelo from Santos and Vitor Roque from Athletico- PR; midfielders Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama, Victor Hugo and Matheus Franca from Flamengo.
Notably, Chelsea are close to an agreement with Andrey Santos, considered to be Brazil's top talented midfielder. The 2004-born player has agreed to the same personal terms with the Blues despite the interest of Man City and Newcastle.

The South American U20 Championship takes place in two phases. The first stage is 2 groups of 5 teams facing each other in a match. The top three teams in each group advance to the next round, playing a round robin to decide the champion. In phase 2, the top 3 teams will win the right to attend the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia.
In the case of teams with equal points, the first criterion to determine the ranking is direct confrontation, then the goal difference, goals scored, and penalty cards.
