Ba Ria - Vung Tau Brazilian boxer Robson Oliveira beat Kim Jin Min at the Asian professional mixed martial arts event Angel's Fighting Championship - MMA AFC 28 on the evening of September 16.

The highlight match at The Grand Ho Tram is the interim Fly Weight (56kg) championship between Brazilian BJJ champion Oliveira and Korean opponent Kim Jin Min. The match was scheduled to take place in three rounds, five minutes each, and ended as expected with an attractive competition.

Oliveira entered the game confidently and immediately rushed to close to the opponent. But Kim was very experienced when he caught Oliveira's legs, pushing his opponent into the octagonal cage. Immediately after that, the Brazilian BJJ champion counterattacked with quality knee strikes.

At the end of the first round, Oliveira dominated when he circled around to control his opponent's back and tried to choke him from behind, but Kim reacted very quickly and successfully turned around to escape. The Korean boxer even almost counterattacked with an arm lock, but Oliveira also had good reflexes to dodge the attack.

In the second round, with extensive experience and good techniques, both boxers continued to exchange blows while looking for knockout opportunities. Oliveira continuously delivered heavy, accurate blows to his opponent's face and abdomen, but Kim was very stubborn in defending him. Taking advantage of Kim's weakness and facial injuries, Oliveira once again took control of the back and applied a rear naked choke, but Kim still managed to escape.

In the deciding round, Oliveira again took the initiative. Midway through the round, he pinned his opponent to the floor with the intention of ending it with a rear choke. But Kim escaped again, taking up a better position to counterattack. The two boxers were tired and struggled on the floor until the end of time. There, Robson Oliveira won the unanimous decision from the judges to win the interim Fly Weight (56kg) championship belt.

Oliveira emerged in the Vietnamese MMA scene since his controversial loss to Tran Ngoc Luong at LION Championship 05 in April 2023. But after returning, this Brazilian boxer continuously won impressive victories at prestigious mixed martial arts events such as AFC or LION Championship. Most recently at MMA LION Championship 08 in mid-August, Oliveira knocked out Phan Huy Hoang in just the first round with a dangerous rear choke.

Kim Jin Min has fought 11 professional matches. Before losing to Oliveira yesterday, this 29-year-old Korean boxer was in high form with four recent wins, two by knockout since joining the AFC arena two years ago.

In some other matches, home boxer Mui Trong Vinh convincingly won against Chinese opponent Jia Yangin in the Bantam Weight category (61.2kg). Coming from MuayThai, Trong Vinh entered the game with kicks to break the opponent's tower. After that, he continuously launched a series of punches and kicks, making it difficult for Jia to defend. Unable to knock out the phoenix, but by dominating the entire match, Trong Vinh still outperformed the judges, winning for the first time in the MMA AFC framework.

The remaining three representatives of Vietnam did not have good results. Luu Duc Manh lost quickly after only 11 seconds of competing with Park Seong Hyun in the Fly Weight category (57kg). Le Minh Hoang also lost in less than a minute to BJJ master Felipe Negochadle in the Bantam Weight class (61.2kg). Dang Hoang Minh was hit with an extremely heavy left hook to the sternum of Song Yeong Jae (Korea) in the Featherweight category (65.8kg), causing the match to end after only 21 seconds.
