Germany Before the great battle of Dortmund, Bayern midfielder Leon Goretzka "parody" Kylian Mbappe's words to confirm the strongest home team in the Bundesliga this season.

"We are ready," Goretzka told Bild newspaper on March 30. "We want to win the Bundesliga for the 11th time in a row. Speaking like Mbappe, we are always at the top."

Earlier this month, Kylian Mbappe spoke to PSG at the top door before the second leg of the 1/8 round of the Champions League at Bayern, even though the French team lost 0-1 in the first leg. Goretzka then replied on Bavarian Football Works that " "Bayern too". As a result, Bayern won 2-0 in the second leg at home, to enter the quarter-finals against Man City.

This weekend, Bayern take on the top of the table Dortmund, who are one point ahead of them in the Bundesliga. The classic German match in round 26 greatly influenced the situation of the championship race. "When we were playing at home, no team came to Allianz as the front door," Goretzka continued. "The pressure on Bayern's opponents is huge."

The match against Dortmund was also the first time Bayern played under new coach Thomas Tuchel. The former Dortmund, PSG and Chelsea manager replaces Julian Nagelsmann, who was sacked last week. "The whole team knows and appreciates him," Goretzka said. "We appreciate Tuchel's experience and successes."

Tuchel was born in Bavaria, where Bayern Munich is also headquartered. He led Mainz 05 and Dortmund in the Bundesliga in 2009-2017, winning the German Cup at the end of this period. Tuchel once brought PSG to the Champions League final 2020, but lost to Bayern. A year later, he helped Chelsea win the Champions League in 2021. Tuchel signed a two-year contract with Bayern, until the end of June 2025.
