Bayern dream of Kane

"Kane has a contract with Tottenham Hotspur. He is definitely a top striker, but this is just a dream for the future," Kahn told Bild (Germany) when asked about the possibility of buying the English striker this summer.

Kane's contract with Tottenham Hotspur runs until June 2024. There is little chance of buying the England striker in advance. City failed in 2021 despite being willing to pay up to $160 million.

Kane also has no intention of leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer. The 28-year-old forward is delighted with the progress his side have made under manager Antonio Conte, especially as they reach the top four of the 2021-2022 Premier League campaign. Tottenham Hotspur have also proved their title ambitions next season, spending more than $100 million to bolster their strength, including Everton's $72 million Richarlison.

Bayern need a striker to replace Robert Lewandowski. The striker, who has scored 344 goals in 375 games over the past eight years, has just moved to Barcelona, leaving plenty of room for attack. The German side currently have only one real striker, Eric Maxim Choppo-Mortin.

It comes after Bayern bought winger Sadio Mane from Liverpool and had just bought midfielder Matisse Delicht from Juventus for $82m.

"We are preparing the squad for next season. Let's see what else happens," Kahn hinted at the possibility of buying a striker to replace Lewandowski.

Kane has scored 248 goals in 386 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur. As well as consistent performances, the England striker also has an age advantage at 28, five years younger than Lewandowski.
