Barca stars shine before the World Cup
Luis Enrique probably sees the game at Amman as a valuable opportunity to test the squad. He has unusual options such as placing Aymeric Laporte at left-back or Marco Asensio as a center forward. The 52-year-old coach made eight substitutions in the second half, including goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Only seven reserve players on the Spain side did not play, including many pillars such as Pedri, Unai Simon, Sergio Busquets, Marcos Llorente, Alvaro Morata... This shows that Enrique wants to find backup plans. quality for each position and requires students to be able to play around in many roles.
Thanks to outstanding strength, Spain is not difficult to control the game. They conceded the home team in the 10th minute, when Fati's cut made goalkeeper Albdallah Al-Fakhouri not have time to fall. Before that, Barca's young talent quietly went up on the left wing, when the Jordan defense was attracted by Asensio.
However, Spain does not seem to have overcome the weak point of distraction in defence. Pau Torres lets Yazan Al-Naimat steal the ball in front of the box. Fortunately for the visitors, striker Jordan shot straight into Sanchez's position in the face-to-face phase. Not long after, the visitors had the opportunity to double the lead, but in a favorable position, Carlos Soler again cushioned the ball into the sky. Opportunities continued to come to Spain, but no more goals were scored for the remainder of the first half.
Spain took just over 10 minutes after the game returned to score the second. Another young player on the Barca staff - Gavi - made a mark with the ball across the penalty area and then sank to the near corner. Immediately after this goal, Gavi left the field as Enrique made four substitutions at once.
Another Barca player - Ferran Torres - who replaced Gavi, immediately had a chance but shot into the edge of the net at a tight angle. 72 minutes, Enrique replaced two more people. In particular, the player who replaced Fati, 20-year-old striker Nico Williams scored the first goal for Spain after the mistake of defender Jordan.
Off the touchline, Enrique was pleased with the young players' performance. For Jordan fans who went to Amman Stadium and stayed until the last minute, they enjoyed the joy of injury time. Substitute striker Hamza Al Dardour overcame veteran defender Cesar Azpilicueta and beat goalkeeper David Raya. Although the goal was only an honorary removal, it created a breaking moment for the home fans in the stands.
Spain will have six days of rest before kicking off its opening match in Group E, against Costa Rica on the evening of November 23.
