Argentina denies printing Messi on banknotes

Argentina Central Bank of Argentina denies rumors of printing Messi's face on this country's banknotes in the near future.

"There is no truth in this," Fernando Alonso, senior manager of communications and public relations at the Central Bank of Argentina, insisted on December 24. "This topic is not in our agenda".

Rumors of Messi's face being printed on the 1,000 peso bill, the highest denomination note in Argentina, emerged after he and his teammates won the 2022 World Cup.
