Brazil winger Antony blamed the air conditioning system at the stadiums in Qatar for making him and many of his teammates sick while attending the 2022 World Cup.

Antony had a cough and sore throat, although he was rarely sick himself. "I think it's the air conditioning in the stadiums," Antony told ESPN Brazil. "Not only me, other players have similar symptoms."

In the opening match against Serbia 2-0 at Lusail Stadium, the 22-year-old winger entered the field from the 80th minute. At the end of the match, he showed signs of fatigue and was determined to have the flu. Midfielder Lucas Paqueta, goalkeeper Alisson Becker also had similar symptoms, leading to the next day off training. However, they still recovered in time to participate in the second match against Switzerland 1-0, in which Paqueta and Becker started.

In the last turn, taking place at 2am on December 3, Hanoi time, Brazil faced Cameroon. Tite's teachers and students have secured a place in the 1/8 round, and only need one point to ensure they stay at the top of Group G, thereby avoiding meeting the top team of Group H - most likely Portugal.

Host Qatar installed a super-large capacity air conditioning system at the eight stadiums hosting the 2022 World Cup due to concerns about too high temperatures (possibly up to 50 degrees Celsius), even in winter days. The huge cooling system is located under the seats and on the top of the stands.

In the first two rounds, the earliest match took place at 13:00 Doha time, followed by the 16h, 19h and 22h frames. In fact, the cooling system has worked when no match at the 2022 World Cup had to use the "cooling break" time (one minute break for players to drink water). However, some fans complained that the air in the stadium was so cold that they had to wear more shirts. Some are warned of the risk of heatstroke when the temperature difference between inside and outside the yard can be up to 20 degrees Celsius.
