Ancelotti's plan to revive Hazar

Spain-Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is said to want to test Eden Hazard as a virtual striker and play doubles for Karim Benzema next season.

According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Ancelotti determined that Benzema is still a key factor, but will turn 35 at the end of the year. The striker, therefore, should be rotated appropriately, especially when the schedule of the game next season is disturbed for the 2022 World Cup.

At the end of 2021, Ancelotti publicly disclosed not to use Hazard and ready for him to leave in the winter transfer window. But he changed his mind and believed Hazard could play well in a new role. The Belgian star has repeatedly kicked the number 9 at Chelsea, in the most sublime stage of his career.

Also according to AS, Hazard can achieve the best physical condition next season, when removing metal pads in the bone and no other injuries. In the past three seasons, the Belgian star was involved in 12 injuries, not to mention the competition due to Covid-19 and missed 70 matches of Real.

The source emphasized that Ancelotti could be a little forced to test Hazard in a new role, because he was difficult to compete in other positions. The left wing - Hazard's forte - is currently belonging to Vinicius. In the 2021-2022 season, the Brazilian striker sublimated with 22 goals and 20 assists through 52 matches, helping Real win the treble, including the Champions League, La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.

On the other side, Ancelotti alternated Rodrigo, Marco Asensio and Federico Valverde-who set up the only goal for Vinicius to help Real beat Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Since joining Real Madrid for $110 million in 2019, Azar has declined due to injury and often faced out-of-control weight gain. He has never played more than 23 games each season and has scored only six goals in 66 games for Real Madrid in the past three seasons.

In the 2018-2019 season, in the last season of Chelsea, Azar scored 16 goals and 15 assists in 37 Premier League games, and two goals and two assists helped the Blue Army win the Europa League.
