Alcaraz is considered better than Djokovic at its peak

According to former world number five Jimmy Arias, Carlos Alcaraz is the best player to ever appear, better than Novak Djokovic at his peak.

Jimmy Arias said he believed Alcaraz would beat Djokovic in the Wimbledon final before the match took place. "I gave an interview that Alcaraz at his peak was better than Djokovic at his peak," the former American tennis player said. "It sounds crazy but Alcaraz is better than anyone else. Djokovic can't be at Alcaraz's level."

Arias, who was number five in the world in 1984, says he has never seen anyone with such a comprehensive skill set as Alcaraz. He assessed that the Spaniard surpassed the psychological threshold when playing in the Wimbledon final just a month after losing to Djokovic at Roland Garros.

"Like many professionals, I don't know how Alcaraz combines the strengths of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic," added Arias. "It's odd to say that a 20-year-old boy is better than the Grand Slam record holder who is considered the greatest of all time."

According to Arias, Alcaraz can attack "fast" like Federer, can defend with the high fighting spirit of Nadal. Alcaraz also possesses Djokovic's own coldness. "In the last serve game at Wimbledon, Alcaraz served a very good serve, but Djokovic only missed one return. Still, Alcaraz was not confused," Arias analyzed.

Alcaraz at the age of 20 has two Grand Slams, better than Federer and Djokovic at the same age and on par with Nadal. The Spaniard has only played on the ATP Tour for three years but has already bagged 12 titles - the 84th most in history.

Alcaraz's victory at Wimbledon blocked Djokovic's streak of four consecutive championships on the London grass, as well as the 24 Grand Slam milestone. Alcaraz will return next week to prepare for the US Open title defense campaign later this month, where Djokovic continues to be the biggest opponent.
