After NBA Summer League, Vietnamese-born player Johnny Juzang signed a new contract with Utah Jazz
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, a reputable journalist, Utah Jazz has officially re-signed Vietnamese-born player Johnny Juzang, younger brother of former Vietnamese basketball player Christian Juzang.
Johnny Juzang will sign a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz, competing in parallel between the NBA and the NBA G-League. Salary details of the player born in 2001 were not disclosed. The figure is expected to fall around $900,000.

This is the result of the hard work that Johnny Juzang has shown throughout last season, plus the extremely impressive NBA Summer League series in the past time.
In four games in Las Vegas, Johnny averaged 17.8 points and 53.2% FG over 23 minutes of play. More impressive is that he threw 3 points with a very high success rate, reaching 52.2% 3PT.

Initially, Utah Jazz made an offer to retain Johnny Juzang at the end of June (qualifying offer) with a value of nearly 1.8 million USD, avoiding him becoming a free agent in the NBA Free Agency transfer market. .
But in early July, Jazz withdrew its qualifying offer. According to pro-Utah journalist of the prestigious website The Athletic, Tony Jones, this move of the team is only to maintain flexibility in the salary fund, not to bid farewell to Juzang.
Jazz still believes in Johnny's growth ceiling, expecting him to become a stable scorer in the reserve group in the first team.
In the NBA, there are currently two Vietnamese-born players playing, including Johnny Juzang (Utah Jazz) and Jaylin Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder).
Contrary to Jaylin, who had a stable spot in the squad, including 36 early appearances in a total of 49 games, Johnny Juzang has experienced more difficulties in his rookie season in the NBA.
Unselected in the NBA Draft, the former UCLA college defender was signed to a two-way contract by the Utah Jazz and spent most of his time playing in the G-League.

Taking full advantage of this opportunity, Johnny Juzang played quite well in the Salt Lake City Star shirt, averaging 20.8 points with 5.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists. By the end of the Regular Season, Juzang was given the opportunity to play in 18 NBA games.
However, the scorer's stats born in 2001 were not so impressive in the first team. He had 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in about 13 minutes of play per game (33.7% FG - 23.8% 3PT).

This two-way contract will help Johnny Juzang stay with the US Professional Basketball League. Although he will have to continue to work harder to win a place in the first team, this is still a commendable start for the 22-year-old scorer.
