Dak Lak The 2023 National Team Tennis Tournament witnessed the first appearance of Thanh Cong Dak Lak Club, with many stars in the squad.

The 2023 National Team Championship tennis tournament will take place from April 17-21, bringing together almost all of the strong clubs of the Vietnamese tennis village, with 14 men's and 9 women's teams from nine delegations. Besides strong delegations such as Hanoi, Army, Becamex Binh Duong or Ho Chi Minh City, the tournament witnessed a new breeze from Thanh Cong Dak Lak - the club of the host unit.

Thanh Cong Club Dak Lak was just established at the beginning of the year. Chairman Vo Le Cong Huan, with the desire to develop Dak Lak tennis movement and compete with other localities across the country, recruited names such as Hoang Thanh Trung, Le Quoc Khanh or Tu Le Khanh Duy. This trio is a combination of experience and youth, each with many outstanding achievements at the national level.

Hoang Thanh Trung has twice won the men's singles tournament of the national outstanding tennis players and twice won the national team tournament. At the age of forty, the player from Vung Tau is the hope of Thanh Cong Dak Lak in singles matches.

Another old general, Le Quoc Khanh is also over 40, but is still considered the number one doubles player in Vietnam today. During his career, Quoc Khanh has won the men's doubles championship 21 times in different tournaments of the national system. The player who moved to Dak Lak from Ho Chi Minh City also won a bronze medal in men's doubles at the 31st SEA Games last year.

The absence of some of Vietnam's key players due to the preparation for the 32nd SEA Games such as Ly Hoang Nam or Trinh Linh Giang also opens up opportunities for young talents to shine at the national team tournament. Tu Le Khanh Duy, who was a national runner-up in men's singles at the age of 17, is one of them. The tennis player born in 2002 is a son of Dak Lak, promising to contribute to his hometown club after years of training and great progress in Binh Duong and Tay Ninh.

With such a powerful force, it is not surprising that Thanh Cong Dak Lak easily won tickets to the quarterfinals in the first time participating in the national team tournament. The host will meet Army 2, in the round of eight strongest teams in the tournament on April 19.

The tournament marked the appearance of Dak Lak on the Vietnamese tennis map. This is also the only tournament in the national competition system in a team format with two men's and women's events, similar to the Davis Cup and Fed Cup formats in the world, respectively. Teams compete in a three-win-two professional format, with two singles and finally a doubles match.

The total prize pool for the 2023 tournament is VND 150 million for eight categories, of which the men's team champion receives VND 40 million, the women's team champion receives VND 30 million.
