8,500 runners participate in FPT Run
Most of the "Happiness Footprint" subscribers are individuals who love running, officers, employees, partners and customers of FPT Corporation. After two weeks of opening registration, the top of the rankings recorded runners who accumulated over 400 km.
Dao Ba Tuan - who came in 8th place with 421.25 km completed, set a goal of running 21 km per day, to become the first Vietnamese to complete 365 consecutive half marathons. To date, he has maintained this activity for nearly 90 days.
Not only running for fitness, those who register to participate in the tournament also aim for charity purposes. "My family and I don't put a lot of emphasis on achievement. Can run, can walk, but the goal is to maintain this activity every day, accumulate as many kilometers as possible to support charity programs. ", said Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang, FPT employee in Da Nang.
For each completed kilometer, FPT Corporation will contribute 1,000 VND to the Hope Fund to build school facilities for children in the highlands. The organizers aim to accumulate at least 3.5 million km, equivalent to 3.5 billion VND. Contributing resources will be used to build the works of the "School Light" program. The "FPT Run - Happy Footprint" tournament kicks off from March 3, and will take place on five continents. Runners in Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Germany, Slovakia, USA... will have a competition lasting 6 months, on the online sports platform V-Race with three stages fight.
The money raised in the first leg (from 3/3 to 2/5) will be used to build a new school. The second stage (from May 3 to July 2) is the journey to build a semi-boarding house. The money of the last leg (from 3/7 to 2/9) will be used to build toilets.
Race results are calculated in the form of cumulative achievements. Runner can run an unlimited number of times, depending on his ability and desire to conquer his limit. However, to be recognized as an achievement, a runner needs to run at an average speed of 3 minutes/km to 13 minutes/km (pace 3 to 13).
